Hi Everyone, I hope you all had a very happy and wonderful New Year! I made a New Year's resolution to "do more thrifting" - because that is one resolution that I know I will keep! LOL I did manage to get to one Estate sale this time, and I almost didn't go because the weather here has been miserable. I also was able to visit my usual bunch of Thrift Shops too.
First up is a bunch of Thanksgiving Gurley candles - now, I don't know if I am very late finding them, or wayyyyy to early for next Thanksgiving! Either way, I am happy to find them because my Thanksgiving collection needs some new additions to it.
At this same sale, I also found a sweet little vintage stuffed Reindeer toy (minus his antlers, which I did not notice at the time - duh!), and some old Christmas lights. This box has "Hollywood" Christmas lights with Mazda lamps.
The other box is for Noma lights, but look at the graphics on this box! They are really beautiful and the color is vibrant. "Strings of Color Light All Year 'Round" - and it looks like they have lots of holidays covered here. There is a cute little Christmas cottage with the lights on it, Halloween black cat and pumpkin, and even Uncle Sam makes an appearance on the box!
A cute little statue of a doggy patiently waiting next to the mailbox. Not sure what he is waiting for, unless he wants to lift his leg on it! :) After purchasing the little dog, all afternoon this song kept running through my head.... ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ "how much is that doggy in the window" ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ arf! arf!
My next stop at the Thrift yielded a nice little haul of vintage jewelry - colorful glass beads, black and white enamel chains, a goldtone double link chain, a red rose enamel pin, bone china pastel flowers pin, 2 pair of beaded cluster earrings, and an orphan earring made of pretty lime green crystal faceted beads. Some of this I will use in my crafting projects.
Close up of the 2 flower pins and lone earring.
Another pic of the cluster earrings.
A pretty little girl statue, she has sweet little pink flowers all over her dress and hat.
Next up is a purchase I made from my blog friend Diane's Etsy Shop, Lydia's Post. I am starting a collection (uh-oh, another collection!) of vintage white plastic kitschy Christmas decorations - I already found a white tree this year, and this will add to the display of stuff that I want around the tree. It is really cute, and Diane also sent a sweet handmade card along with it. Isn't it pretty!
Back to thrifting....in a bag of random junk at the Thrift shop, I found a little pink Easter bunny and carrot candle. Gurley? There was no tag on it, so I am not sure. Either way, it is adorable.
That must have been my day for jewelry, because at the next shop I found several bags containing gobs of mostly vintage jewelry. More stuff to use for the crafting projects....yippee! I am surprised that the floors have not caved in at my house, because of all the "crafting and jewelry supply stuff" that I have amassed over the years. I have calculated that I will have to live to be 500 years old before I can get all these projects done :) ...but does that stop me from buying more???? sheesh...
A beautiful vintage pink pottery vase! They were bringing carts out of new stuff to put on the shelves, and I was at the right place at the right time. It is about 12" tall, and in perfect condition.
Next I found a little box of prisms - I am not sure if someone made them, or if they came that way. Little white ceramic roses attached to a crystal prism. There are only 4 of them, so I will have to think of something to put them on.
And last but not least, a cute little red and white crocheted pot holder. It will go in the "potholder collection"....and yes, I have one of those too.... LOL
Thank you for visiting, and I hope you all have a wonderful week of thrifting!
